Michael Zimmer's The Poacher's Daughter has been awarded the prestigious Western Heritage Wrangler Award from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, in Oklahoma City. The Wrangler honors "the best in film, literature, and music." Past recipients have included Larry McMurtry, Thomas Berger, James Michener, Edward Abbey, Barbara Kingsolver and Cormac McCarthy.
